If you’re anticipating news of a possible baby shower for the Queen of Hip Hop & Soul, you’ll be hard pressed to find out that Mary J. Blige is not expecting a child at the moment according to errant reports stating the opposite in a recent issue of Marie Claire. The story, which appears in the May issue of the magazine, states Blige and her husband Kendu Isaacs are expecting their first child together this summer and was apparently printed in error according to a statement hitting the airwaves and newstands. The “Just Fine” singer is intending to spend this summer on the road giving fans more to nod their heads to at both the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, LA and various stops along the Lilith Fair tour (click the links for more information on both).
Mary J. Blige is a definite local favorite. Do you guys recall the last time she was scheduled to perform in Cincinnati? Mary J. Blige was supposed to headline opening night of the 2007 Macy’s Music Festival at Paul Brown Stadium right in our backyard – downtown Cincinnati. But of course, due to an airline’s inclement weather policy, MJB’s flight from NYC was ultimately delayed and canceled leaving us all out in the rain at the stadium if you guys remember. Seeming as though she hasn’t be rescheduled for a return visit, will we have to catch up with her this summer in other cities? Are you planning to travel to see any concerts this summer?
