With the amount of money Lil Wayne makes, there aren’t many labels (if any) he can’t afford to buy. But the one label that means the most to him would have to be the one his dearly departed grandmother gave him.
While the world knows him my many monikers: Lil Wayne, Wayne, Weeezy, The Martian, P*ssy Monsta or the CEO of Young Money records, his grandmother, Mercedes Carter, preferred to call him ‘Lil Tune.’ So as a homage to her memory, Wayne ran with it, only adding the “Chi” on the end of it to give it the same sound as Gucci.
