Kendrick Lamar earns a platinum plaque for his work on “Swimming Pools (Drank).”
Last year’s good kid, m.A.A.d. city by Kendrick Lamar has reached another milestone. First, the album went gold. Now, the album’s second single, “Swimming Pools (Drank)” is certified platinum.
The track was released in late July of 2012, a year that would see Lamar celebrated for his efforts. His work on good kid landed him several other achievements, including HipHopDX’s Album of the Year, our Readers’ Choice Album of the Year and Emcee of the Year.
“Swimming Pools” topped charts both in the States and overseas, where he is currently touring. The official remix for the track features Lamar’s Black Hippy family.
