Our hearts grew heavy after learning what one man did to survive. Richard James Verone walked into a North Carolina bank. He handed the teller a note and said “this is a bank robbery, please give me one dollar”. Afterward he told the teller that “I will be sitting in a chair over there when the police come and get me”. The reason for the heist was because he has no health care. He couldn’t afford it! But there was one thing he was sure of; if he was indeed apprehended and jailed he would receive FREE health care.
We had a discussion during the morning show and discovered that an inmate can receive better health care than a person on the outside. Mr. Verone explained he has a growth in his chest, two ruptured discs, problems with his left foot, unemployed, and in pain.
