“If you’re a fan of HBO’s original programming, you already know that Kid Cudi makes appearances in “How To Make It In America.”

Off of the success from that, Crudi decided to make a movie. An artsy movie, with all original music.

This might remind you of another short film by another well known rapper around the samae time last year. Any guesses? If your answer was Kanye West’s “Runaway” then ding ding ding you’re correct!! The only difference between “Runaway” and “Maniac” is that Cudi’s film is spoken entirely in French with English subtitles.

So far the weather forecast claims the snow will continue steadily throughout the day, but will eventually taper to scattered snow showers this evening with potential for more snow overnight and during tomorrow’s commute.

A winter storm warning has indeed been placed into effect for the Tri-State area until midnight on Wednesday and in some counties a snow emergency has also been declared.

With more snow expected to fall today, looks like its impacting travel already as nearly 65 reported flights have been canceled early this morning at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. The weather has created cancelations scheduled for the first portion of the day so travelers beware. We are urging you to check your flight status before attempting to make it to the airport.

It’s no secret that 50 Cent used to hustle “snow” and other street pharmaceuticals before he blew up in the rap game.  And yesterday he returned to his old ways with a different type of snow with the help of a few kids! 

Put some white powder in front of 50 Cent and he knows how to make a dollar.  The rapper recently took to his Twitter account to announce he and a few kids were willing to shovel the snow from your driveway…for a fee of course.  In his own way, he’s teaching kids how to get on their business hustle.

He said on Twitter:

I’m going out to shovel snow and see if I can make me a few extra dollars today. I’m charging more if they want to take pictures

I want a hundred dollars per house. I bet anybody ill make a grand moving snow today.

I want a hundred dollars if your stuck. Ill get you out. Lol

So did it work?  Apparently.  50 soon booked four jobs…which was enough to hire employees:

I’m paying 30 dollars and hour I only want 3 workers that 90 dollars and hour but I think we can do all 4 in a hour in a half. Lol

this snow moving business is just to see if laws apply to every business. After the first job I got 4 more now I have 3 kid I hired.

One is a cute kid he has So how did he do?  I guess we have to wait till he logs back onto Twitter to find out if he made that $1,000.  But this does prove he’s a smart business man and instead of complaining about your circumstances…you can make some hustler moves and turn a blizzard into a rainstorm…of money.

Holiday travelers in the Midwest braced for snow and ice from a storm Friday that was expected to deliver a rare white Christmas to Nashville before rolling into the Northeast.

A day after the most densely populated parts of the county got a break from the weather, several inches of snow were expected across parts of the heartland. Up to 8 inches could fall in Iowa and 6 inches in Illinois and Minnesota, with forecasters warning drivers about snow-covered roads and limited visibility.

The storm was expected to crawl south into Tennessee on Saturday, then possibly move north on Sunday. Winter weather advisories were in effect from North Dakota into Kentucky.

“People that are going to Grandma’s house,” warned Bobby Boyd, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Nashville, “need to get going.”

Fair weather helped make the holiday sojourn a not-so-painful experience in much of the country Thursday, even with more people on the move than last year.

Eric and Tatiana Chodkowski, of Boston, were driving with their kids, ages 2 and 4, to see relatives in New York. They said forecasts for snow on Sunday made them wonder whether they’d make it back then, as planned. They deemed the roads congested but manageable Thursday, and most people found the nation’s airports to be the same way.

Planes took off into windy but accommodating skies at New York’s LaGuardia Airport as Steve Kent prepared to fly to Denver for a family ski trip, scoffing at the puny lines.

“I don’t find it that difficult,” he said. “I think Thanksgiving is harder.”

At airports, the long security lines feared over Thanksgiving, when practically everyone is on the move the same day, never materialized, and aren’t expected to now. The spread-out nature of the year-end holidays means things won’t be quite so cramped.

Travelers may notice that airport screeners are taking a closer look at empty insulated beverage containers like thermoses because air carriers have been alerted about a potential terror tactic involving them, an administration official said.

The official, who spoke Thursday on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive security matters, stressed that there is no intelligence about an active terror plot. The Homeland Security Department regularly alerts law enforcement about evolving terror tactics.

The Air Transport Association expects 44.3 million people on U.S. flights between Dec. 16 and Jan. 5 – up 3 percent over the same period a year ago but still below pre-recession travel volume. The average ticket price is $421, up by 5 percent.

The Vino Volo Wine Room at Detroit Metropolitan Airport is benefiting from more travelers, manager Mark Del Duco said Thursday.

“The Christmas mood is more there this year than last,” he said, estimating that sales are up 10 percent this season compared with last year as financially confident travelers spend more freely.

Mike Lukosavich, of Harrison Township, Mich., was surprised the first leg of his trip was moving so smoothly when he stopped at rest area on the Ohio Turnpike in Elmore, Ohio, near Toledo.

He, his wife and their 8-month-old daughter were heading to see family in Parkersburg, W.Va. His only headache came when he saw the gas price of about $3 a gallon.

“It’s something you have to do to see the family,” said Lukosavich, 33.

The AAA has expected overall travel to rise about 3 percent this year, with more than 92 million people planning to go more than 50 miles sometime between now and Jan. 2. More than 90 percent said they would be driving.

As a PARENT, how do you feel about snow days?

11. Plan a meal you haven’t tried before. Check out your cookbooks, make a grocery list for when it is safe to run to the store, and prepare it together. Make sure everyone has a food choice they like.

12. Time to unwind. Not every moment needs to be planned and filled. Take a break with a book you each like, and read a chapter or two.

13. Too much energy? Watch the sugar intake, and clear a space for stretching, jumping jacks, jogging in place, or try to learn a hot new dance move together!

14. Artsy kids? Set up a craft table, cover with newspaper, provide lots of paper, glue, scissors, glitter, sequins, beads, yarn and other supplies. Let them create without any guidance from you … just see what happens!

15. Ask a child with a particularly strong interest in a certain topic to research it with you and let them help you create a Squidoo Lens about it.

17. Play Trivial Pursuit. Bend the rules: give a colored wedge for a correct answer on ANY space to speed up a game, make difficult questions multiple choice (with at least one SILLY answer), or play on teams with a “game show host” that keeps score rather than using the board.

21. Take a nature walk, in a nearby park or even your backyard. Look for tracks and try to identify what left them. Think of what each animal might be looking for in the snow.

22. SNOWBALL FIGHT!! Split into teams: adults vs. kids, boys vs. girls, or whatever works for your group of 2 to 20 and build your forts. Then stock on up “ammo” and let the battle begin!

23. Make a family of snow angels, or build a snowman for each family member, and decorate them. Food coloring and water in a spray bottle adds to the fun, but be careful you don’t stain your clothes.

24. Decorate a tree with yummy treats for the neighborhood wildlife. One idea: smear peanut butter over a plain unpainted pine cone, and roll it in bird seed. Hang it in the tree with a bit of yarn.

As the Tri-State braces for even colder weather, local doctors are offering tips on staying safe and healthy in the frigid temperatures.

Doctors at University Hospital say they haven’t seen many weather-related injuries in the past couple of days, even though temperatures have dipped as low as four degrees. However, doctors warn that everyone should know about temperature-related illnesses, such as Frostbite, dehydration and hypothermia.

“When that happens, it affects your ability to think, the way your heart works,” saidDr. Larry Holditch, medical director at the Cincinnati Health Department. “It affects all the systems of your body which can shut down if your exposed long enough.”

Holditch says cold shelters have been busy as people without a place to go try to stay warm, but he’s not concerned about overflow shelters reaching capacity.

“We have about 90 people coming each day to our rec center, which acts as a cold shelter,” said Dr. Holditch. “What we’re telling people is that they need to get into a warm environment.”

Officials with several area cold shelters say they are trying to utilize donations to give out coats, boots, gloves and thermal clothing if needed.

The Cincinnati Health Department and Centers for Disease Control have given several tips to stay warm and keep safe:

• Limit skin exposure to the extreme cold and avoid extended periods of exposure
• Eat well balanced meals with plenty of carbs and avoid alcohol
• Wear proper clothing, such as a hat, scarf, sleeves that are snug at the wrist, mittens, and several layers of dry clothing, and layer if you can
• If you suspect a problem with frostbite or hypothermia, should seek medical care. If body temperature is below 95 degrees, it is an emergency

Looking Ahead: We expect our next system to move in Wednesday late night into Thursday morning. Steady to moderate snow will fall during Thursday morning into afternoon across our hometown with accumulations upwards of 3 to 6 inches possible by Thursday afternoon. Then very cold air settles in with highs in the upper teens for the weekend. This is a changing system that we will continue to track.
