Jeezy’s 4th studio album and 3rd installment of the “Thug Motivation” series has been a much anticipated one with all prior release dates being pushed back over the past two years. During this time several singles have been released including “Balling” featuring Lil Wayne, Rollin featuring Fabolous, Shake Life, and Flexin featuring Fabolous and Yo Gotti. In an interview to talk about the upcoming album and its delays Jeezy simply explained,

“I’ma keep it real. At the time, you know I had to go live life,” he said, “I was on two big tours, so I was just doing a lot of rapper things. I get my music from the streets and livin’, and I don’t live. I didn’t do Jeezy. I was doing Young Jeezy, the rapper, but I wasn’t doing Jeezy. So I went back home and kinda just got out and started moving around. It just all came together.”

He received some backlash in the public not fully understanding what was taken him so long to put out another album after his successful third album, The Recession. He spoke with XXL soon after his announcement to push back the date, and said he’d rather wait and make something real.
“I’m doin’ what any n—a would do on his fourth album,” Jeezy said. “I’m gettin’ it together. I’m not just gon’ give you anything, to be hot and relevant. That don’t make sense. That’s like telling a muthaf—er anything just to get it done. I’ma be straight up with you, so when you walk away, even if you ain’t satisfied, I kept it real. I kept it 100. And that’s the way I feel. I wouldn’t even call it the top of my game. I’m just really figuring out the music sh–.”

Young hasn’t kept us waiting for nothing though!!! The album is set to be a 2-disc set, with the uncut version including a short film entitled “Hustlerz Ambition”. The film narrated by Samuel L. Jackson and directed by Chris Robinson will take us on a journey thru the life of Jeezy himself and his rise to fame.

But the new CD won’t have group member Michael McCary. You may remember he left the group in 2003 due to health issues and apparently he has no plans to rejoin Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris, and Shawn Stockman.

In an interview BlackMEdiaScoop.com the group stated, “The type of music we do has been dormant for years,” Morris said. He believes that old fans and new listeners will enjoy the R&B material full of the group’s classic harmonies. We asked Morris whether the guys had asked Michael McCary, who left the group in 2003 due to a medical problem, to sing on the new album. “We reached out to have Michael involved. Mike had some outrageous demands”.

Twenty, will contain 10 brand new songs and 10 newly recorded and revamped versions of the diamond and multi-platinum group’s classics, including “End Of The Road,” “I’ll Make Love To You,” and “Bended Knee.

Twenty is set to hit stores on October 24th, but you can pre-order a copy through iTunes.

R&B music is truly here to stay as artists such as Jill Scott and Brian McKnight are set to release their latest projects just in time for Black Music Month (June) and a blazing summer of brand new music.

Brian McKnight, who plans to release the album “Just Me” on Tuesday, July 12th follows up his extensive catalog with the brand new track “Temptation” leading the way. The sound is reminiscent of legendary R&B singer/songwriter the late Marvin Gaye’s “I Want You” and brings back that effortless sound we’ve longed for over the last few years.

How soon is too soon to get over a lover? Apparently, time is of no concern for Hugh Hefner, everyone’s favorite old school pimp. He’s found himself a new chick, a new blonde to bare his arm after his 25-year-old girlfriend Crystal Harris shot him down and called off their planned wedding at the Playboy Mansion just five days before it was supposed to happen.

No need to fret or feel sorry for Hefner, he’s already on the move with Playboy Magazine’s Miss January 2011 Anna Sophia Berglund, also 25. The new boo has reportedly already moved into Hefner’s bedroom inside the mansion and there’s love in the air…or so we think.
