Cincinnati Hip Hoppers, where y’all at? We’re having an afternoon conversation about last night’s BET Hip Hop Awards and taking a look at the best (and the worst) of the individual cyphers that took place during the show.

101.1 The Wiz wants to know what you thought of them one by one. Of course, we’re not going to put all of the work on you. Together myself and my favorite radio critic have decided to chime in on the cyphers and let you know what we thought of each one, too.

Then of course, all you have to do is post your thoughts and responses to the cypher or our recaps below on the message board below. Sound simple? Seem easy? Good, then let’s go for it!

Next up, we have Busta Rhymes, Reek the Villain, Zawcain and Mickey Factz all droppin’ some heat, but who brought their best?

MUSICJUNKIE’S REPORT:

I adore Busta Rhymes! Always have, always will, but I’m so mad he did not represent on this one. I get that he’s showcasing the next generation and the Conglomerate Movement’s new artist, but come on dude, where was that signature flow and energy? Were the vets not supposed to outshine the newbies? I grew up on everything that dude touched when I really started getting into Hip Hop. This one was a little interesting, but I’ll have to say that Reek the Villain stole this cypher with ease. He’s got something special in his delivery and the lyrics. He reminds of Fabolous a little with that twist and twang on the pronunciation of his words. He actually made me listen to him the entire time. The other two were smooth, but I’m interested in learning more about them all. I kinda like being introduced to the new cats. There’s something to learn from each one as I build a discerning ear. What did you think NOC? Who brought the heat?

NOC’S REPORT:

Yo i feel like busta should’ve spit for real. I was very disappointed but maybe that’s what the plan was…to just introduce the new cats. But Mickey Fatz is not new to the game tho. He been doing the mixtape scene and his music represents that raw flow. He gave tyou a lil taste on this one tho. zawcain was slick wit the flow tho repping Tx different from the typical chop and screwed texan styled. But Mickey had it on this one hands down.

What did you guys think? Which of us do you agree with the most? Don’t forget to share your thoughts by posting in the comments section below.
