She snuck onto the scene just over a year ago, but after waking up the world of entertainment with her candid flow, Def Jam Records/Music Line Group artist K’LA has claimed her spot for sure.  K’LA has become known for the radio smash hit “All Your Love,” which appropriately samples Bob Marley and Lauryn Hill’s “Turn Your Lights Down Low.” The track was the first to be lifted from the Gary, IN native’s refreshing debut “The Coldest Winter Ever,” but now she’s back with an even bigger bang for your buck.

K’LA The Lyricist is officially set to return this week with a blast off delivered in perfect timing for Independence Day (July 4th). In fact, the mixtape’s title “Freedom” just might be the sonic liberation we all need. In an industry that churns out manufactured hits and superstars just the same, K’LA has the remedy for it all. Do it your own way and be the best at what you do. Oddly enough, this formula seems to be working, but can she do it a second time around? There will be fireworks indeed if you stick around long enough to listen. Just keep your eyes to the sky. Follow K’LA on Twitter – @klathelyricist.

KEVIN MCCALL – “UN-INVITED GUEST”

He’s the musical genius and the singer/songwriter/producer responsible for Chris Brown’s Grammy-nominated single “Deuces,” but now he’s ready to take on the world and make a name for himself in order to rise to the top of his game. Even if he doesn’t succeed right away, Kevin McCall has a place in the music industry reminiscent of the days of Tyrese and Tank’s early success. Just don’t pigeon hole this native of California-bred superstar from LA’s Watts neighborhood. Instead, lend him your ear and pretty soon your heart will follow. Offering something just for the ladies on nearly each track, Kevin McCall’s vocal ability and superb writing skills are evident on “How Many Bars” and “Body Instrument.” Follow Kevin McCall on Twitter – @kevinmccall.

LIL’ MO – “P.S. I LOVE YOU”

R&B diva turned radio hostess Lil’ Mo is back on the scene after quite some time and she’s celebrating her own motherhood status in a major way. The heavy R&B influence Lil’ Mo brings to the game is refreshing on this release, but also keeps up with the latest Hip Hop radio favorites. Highlights include the church girl singer’s own two-part remix of Chris Brown’s smoldering hit “Look at Me Now.” Follow Lil’ Mo on Twitter – @TheLilMoShow.

OMARION – “THE AWAKENING”

Returning to the sound that made him a star all while still ambushing the industry swiftly during a recent hiatus, R&B singer/dancer Omarion (formerly of teen heartthrob group B2K) is back and ironically better than ever. Blazing an extensive set of tracks we’ve kept on repeat for weeks at a time, Omarion does what many said he couldn’t do by staying relevant in an ever-changing, always evolving musical climate. Stand out tracks include the buzzworthy single “Battle” featuring rapper Red Cafe and the mixtape’s highlight – a remake of Aaliyah’s chart-topping classic “One in a Million.” Follow Omarion on Twitter – @1Omarion.
