It’s a sad day for one of Cincinnati’s leading families. Icon and billion dollar business man, Carl Lindner has died. The 92yr old was rushed to Christ Hospital reportedly gravely ill on Monday, October 17. Lindner is survived by his wife, Edith and three sons.

WLWT reports “Carl Lindner was one of a kind,” said Sen. Rob Portman. “Cincinnati lost a loyal son who, despite all his successes, never forgot where he came from and never hesitated to support a worthy cause. Through his good works and with the support of his family, including his wife, Edyth, he made an indelible contribution to the city he loved so much.”

“I was mayor in the eighties and Carl just loved Cincinnati,” former Mayor Charlie Luken said. “At that point, he was just starting to enjoy the fruits of his success and he was just the most devoted, kind guy and adviser. He did more things for the city than any mayor or mayors will ever do.”

Our condolences to the Lindner family and friends.
