Stepping outside the box is not always easy! Rihanna is certainly the kind of artist who takes risks, whether with her image or the artistic direction of her music. Last night at the Academy of Country Music Rih Rih switched it up a bit with a 1st time performance of California King Bed, a duet with Jennifer Nestles (of the band Sugarland). Not the strongest vocalist, Rihanna’s presence carries her on stage-it is one of her strongest qualities. She makes you believe her, whether she hits difficult notes or not. The verdict on Rih’s country effort? Hot! The outfit, the lip stick, nail polish, short hair-doo, and her courage to hit the stage outside of her genre. She sang well too.
