Los Angeles– Tyler Perry’s “For Colored Girls” dominated Friday night’s NAACP Image Awards winning the best picture, director and supporting-actress prizes.
Halle Berry won the outstanding actress prize “Frankie & Alice,” and also shared a heartfelt acceptance speech about achieving her childhood dream.

“If it were not for the NAACP,” Berry said during her acceptance speech, “a little girl … dared to dream what was impossible, what people said a little black girl could not do” and become an actress.
