Lincoln Heights has gathered as a community to take some initiative and authority on keeping its residents moving toward healthier habits and that includes enforcing a tobacco-free policy for the small neighborhood.

Officials from Lincoln Heights have voted this week for the area to become the first in Hamilton County to pass and approve the action plan. Council members voted unanimously while residents have strong yet mixed feelings on the entire situation.

No one will be permitted to smoke on properties owned by the village of Lincoln Heights. For additional updates, feel free to find out what’s happening in Lincoln Heights by visiting WCPO.com.

Community officials hope to educate more Lincoln Heights residents through outreach efforts throughout the remainder of the summer instead of simply handing out tickets and citations from local police officers, but the issue is already causing quite a stir. Do you think the new law preventing smoking in outdoor, public spaces in Lincoln Heights will be effective? Are you a resident of Lincoln Heights?
