7th Annual Rock The Bells Festival

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut People’s Instinctive Travels & the Paths of Rhythm, A Tribe Called Quest is planning on reissuing the album with new remixes.

The remixes are said to feature today’s most popular hip-hop artists who’ve credited Tribe as a creative influence.

In a press release statement, Q-Tip said:

“I had this album in my head for years before I did it. Looking at it overall, to see the thoughts of a 16-year-old gain any kind of acknowledgement makes me feel like I have arrived. But to see it in this incarnation. I’m humbled.”

Ali Shaheed Muhammad, who’s battling Parkinson’s disease, added, “This album means a lot. It was the beginning of our careers; the beginning of our imprint; the beginning of seeing life the way we saw it, and being able to put it down in words and music.”

It’s been 17 years since the legendary group released an album: 1998’s The Love Movement. There’s no word on when the actual re-release will drop, but stay tuned.
