After finding himself embroiled in a highly-competitive race two years ago against Kanye West and J.Cole in a match-up of sales, it appears that Mac Miller is ready to dish out some new music. That’s right, it’s time to celebrate because Mac Miller is returning with his third album.

On Thursday (July 30), Mac revealed the completion of his new album on Twitter. After dropping a bomb a la Flex, he elaborated on his decision to wrap up this project after previously working on nine albums before ultimately settling on this one.

“Dear World, The album is finished. Love, Malcolm,” he tweeted yesterday. “I put 2.5 years of my life into making this album,” he added.

After showing steady signs of growth on his last musical endeavor, Watching Movies With the Sound Off, the highly-touted rapper is ready to get the ball rolling with his first major-label project. In 2014, he inked a deal with Warner Bros. for an whopping $10 million. Talk about breaking the bank.

In 2013, WMWTSO was pitted against J.Cole’s Born Sinner, and Kanye West’s Yeezus. Despite falling third in the race for number one, Mac’s fans didn’t disappoint as the rapper ended up tallying over 100,000 copies within its first week.

This should definitely be something special for hip-hop purists, considering the outpour of albums released this year ranging from Drake’s If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late, to Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly, and Future’s Dirty Sprite 2. Let’s hope that Mac can keep the momentum going and deliver a home run of an album.
