Funkmaster Flex

While Funkmaster Flex co-premiered Jay Z’s 2009 single ‘D.O.A.,’ things seem to have suddenly gotten contentious between the Hot 97 personality and Jay Z. In a 17-minute segment aired Saturday night, Funkmaster Flex took to both Hot 97 and his Instagram account to publicize his irritation with Jay Z. Repeating what felt were slights about Life+Times, private issues with Jay Z, and a rift with the Diplomats, Funkmaster Flex said he felt disrespected by a recent text message from Jay Z.

‘Even though I have such respect, I’m not gonna let somebody try to handle me,’ Flex said. ‘For the simple fact in 2015, bruh, I don’t do the caps in the text. I don’t work for you. I’m not a worker.’

He showcased the alleged text message on his Instagram account and went on to call Jay Z a ‘commercial, corporate rapper that drops a little catchphrase every three months.’

The segment also included Flex inferring LL Cool J, Funkmaster Flex, and Big Kap’s 2000 single ‘Ill Bomb’ never got approved for a video budget due to behind the scenes maneuvering by Jay Z. The Instagram picture of the alleged text message can be viewed below.
