It’s a nightmare all over again for residents in St. Louis. On the eve of the 2 month anniversary of the death of Mike Brown, another teenage is dead.

According to reports, a St. Louis police officer fatally shot a teenage boy 17 times when he opened fire on him.

St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson said, “the officer fired his weapon 17 times after “at least three” shots were fired at him.” It wasn’t clear right away, how many shots had actually hit the 18 year-old teen.

The six year veteran was off duty, but was working a security job and wearing his police uniform. While doing patrol, he saw three men run away as he approached. According to the officer, he gave chase because one of the teens seemed to have a gun in his pants. After a brief struggle between one of the teens and the officer, according to reports, the teen fired at the cop and the cop fired back.

A protest began on the streets of St. Louis near the Missouri Botanical Garden. As police stood by, the crowd chanted, “Hey, hey, ho, ho, these killer cops have got to go” and “Who do you serve? Who do you protect?”
