Renowned tattoo artist Davee Blows joined forces with street wear clothing company Mishka NYC to host an exhibit of his work on Friday, August 29. All of Brooklyn seemed to show up in support with their Death Adder and Keep Watch merchandise in tow. This was a night for both parties to celebrate.

Founded in 2003 by Mikhail Bortnik and Greg Rivera, Mishka has slowly but surely established itself as a clothing brand to watch, the majority of which is adorned in graphic yet cartoony images involving bears and eyeballs, veins and all. The “Keep Watch” eyeballs and logo have helped the company open stores across the country and even in Tokyo.

Given Mishka’s penchant for the unusual, it’s no surprise that their path collided with Blows. A tattoo artist whose work blends traditional style with cartoon zaniness, Blows has done tattoos in 46 countries around the world and eventually plans to lay down ink on all seven continents.

The two globetrotting forces came together last night for an exhibit in the middle of the store on 350 Broadway in Brooklyn, NY. Blows’ “100Panthers Vol. 1″ is a series of 27 works featuring panthers, all shaped by Blows’ maximalist hyper-art style, in various different ways. Some are slanted and obscured, some blend into their respective canvases, some (okay, one) looks like Mr. T. Check out the rest of the photos from the event below!
