Now it’s been a minute since I’ve made my way to the movie theater since Netflix, Redbox and Bootlegs…lol.  But I try to keep my ear to the ground of what’s out coming out and how they did. Here’s the recap from this past weekend.
(Via;Ballerstatus)The Sandra Bullock-George Clooney space drama, Gravity, shot to the top of the weekend box office and into the record books.

The film debuted at #1 with $55.55 million, the biggest October opening ever and the biggest for Bullock and Clooney. It’s set in space, as a medical engineer and an astronaut work together to survive after an accident leaves them adrift.

Last week’s top movieCloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, fell to #2 with $21.5 million, bringing its two-week total to $60.5 million.

The Ben Affleck-Justin Timberlake thriller, Runner Runner, opened in third place with $7.6 million. in it, a poor college student (Timberlake), who cracks an online poker game goes bust, so he arranges a face-to-face with the man he thinks cheated him, a sly offshore entrepreneur (Affleck).

Warner Bros.’ Prisoners, starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal, falls to #4 with $5.7 million; and closing out the top 5 is Rush with $4.4 million.
