Benzino is a successful media entrepreneur, recording artist, actor and record producer who is widely recognized as a pioneer in the Hip Hop industry, with a track record of over 25 years of accomplishments and contributions to Hip Hop culture. He has emerged recently as one of the breakout stars from the smash hit VH1 TV series, “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta,” with The Washington Post calling him one of the “top 5 reasons to watch” the show, which has set ratings records for VH1. Benzino’s role on the show, which began opposite America’s favorite bad boy Stevie J, has been applauded across the social networks for the wisdom, common-sense and chivalrous character he has displayed, and he is being credited with opening up a new discussion on Black male/female relationships, starting from his classic “say it wit me, Stevie, ‘mo-no-ga-mous’” speech in the first season, and now thru his “The Love Doctor” persona. Benzino is the host of the “Zino After Dark” radio show on Atlanta’s #1 station, V103, where he engages fans in discussions about relationships, food, fashion and entertainment. He has been a successful recording artist for the past two decades, and he recently released the new single, “Another Planet,” produced by Sonny Digital. Benzino is the creator of Hip Hop Weekly, which is the top-selling urban entertainment magazine on newsstands in America. He is the co-founder of The Source with his partner Dave Mays; from 1988 thru 2006, they developed The Source into one of the entertainment industry’s most profitable and influential magazine/media empires, including the highly-rated “The Source Awards” tv specials, “The Source Hip Hop Hits” compilation albums, as well as French and Japanese versions of the magazine.
