For the second weekend in a row, Lee Daniels’ The Butler served up success at the box office.

The film stars Forest Whitaker as a longtime White House butler and Oprah Winfrey as his boozy wife. After debuting with $25 million, it took in another $17 million this weekend to bring its total to $52.2 million.

The Jason Sudeikis/Jennifer Aniston comedy, We’re The Millers, held steady at #2 with $13.5 million to bring its three-week haul $91 million.

The biggest debut this weekend came from Sony’s fantasy drama, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, which earning just $9.3 million to debut at #3. The film stars Lily Collins as Clary Fray, who learns that she descends from a line of warriors who protect our world from demons.

At #4 is the new comedy filmThe World’s End, taking in $8.9 million. It focuses on five friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from 20 years earlier, unwittingly become humankind’s only hope for survival.

And closing out the top five is Disney’s Planes, taking $8.5 million to bring its three-week take to $59.5 million.

The final new wide release is Lionsgate’s creepy horror, You’re Next, debuting at #7 with $7 million. In the film, the Davison family comes under attack during their wedding anniversary getaway by a gang of mysterious killers.
