Initiative to Reduce Gun Violence
The story tells of Dubb, a young man from the inner city who has just been released from prison. His dream is to become a rap artist. He is approached by, ‘APZ’ a high profiled lawyer who also appears to manage a record label. This lawyer actually brokers dealings on both sides of the law, (demonstrating that evil dwells in ‘high and low’ places). ‘APZ’ offers this young man, who was raised by his mother in the church, an opportunity to develop his career with him. Dubb knows how APZ does business. When he is presented with the choice of ‘who to serve’ he clearly sees that he is making a choice between good and evil but he quickly rationalizes the decision he hopes will provide the short term flow of funds needed to launch a legitimate rap career. He opts to return to a life of crime, deception, violence, guns and drugs. Slammed again with reality, God offers Dubb an opportunity to make a different choice. As Dubb strives toward positive life change he is pursued by the consequences of past choices. In a highly dramatic set of closing scenes, key characters reveal the power of God and the positive life forces that can align with those who choose to serve Him.
