What does everyone dream of when you hit high school beside graduation…PROM! Looks like the seniors of Withrow High School 2013 won’t get one this year as the principal CANCELS PROM as punishment for a prank the seniors were told NOT to do.
A spokesperson for Cincinnati Public Schools tells Local 12 that administrators at Withrow High School learned about a plan to have a water balloon fight in the lunchroom. The principal gave the school a warning over the loudspeaker, saying the prom would be canceled if the seniors went through with it.
Another warning was giving in the lunchroom-but the water balloon fight happened anyway. Officials say student safety was at risk-and more kids were involved in the balloon fight than they’d expected. The principal also did not believe she could renege on the consequence of losing prom.
School officials say they’ve heard from parents who are upset-and from parents who believe the principal did the right thing!
