National Aids and HIV Awareness Day was yesterday. Yet the conversation continues. Russ Parr spoke with Donna McCree from the CDC, interview below. Donna explained new studies have revealed there is a decline when it comes to black women being infected with the HIV disease. Though studies are being conductd continuously this is the first time this has happened in over a decade. When it comes to race and the female gender, black women continue to make up 60% of all new HIV/Aids cases. Young black gay and bisexual men now account for new infections than any other group in the country. Stop the cycle! There are several ways you can protect yourself and your partner. Keep the conversation ongoing, get tested, increase awareness, protect yourself by wearing a condom or practice abstinence. HIV is preventable!
