In a surprising survey, HoopsHype.com found that although President Barack Obama is a hooper, his GOP rival Mitt Romney has managed to garner more NBA support than him. We have to keep in mind, however, that most of the pro-ball contributors are team owners and executives. You can figure out the rest.

Anyway, Romney collected more than $70,000 in donations from owners and execs like Michael Gear of the Atlanta Hawks, Daryl Morey of the Houston Rockets, James Dolan of the New York Knicks, Pat Riley of the Miami Heat, and Herb Simon of the Indiana Pacers.

Obama wasn’t far behind though, with $67,750. NBA legends Michael Jordan and Patrick Ewing along with all-stars Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo, Kyrie Irving, Joe Johnson and Paul Pierce recently participated in a Obama fundraiser raising more than $3 million dollars. Other NBA-ballas who have donated to the Obama campaign include Vince Carter, Grant Hill, Baron Davis, the San Antonio Spurs’ Gregg Popovich, and the Boston Celtic s’ Doc Rivers.

Damn, Pat Riley is down with Mitt Romney, huh?
