I had the pleasure of viewing “The Undersheperd” written and produced by our morning show personality Russ Parr. This is Russ’ fourth film which stars Isaiah Washington. With a cornucopia of actors Melinda Willams, Lamman Rucker, Elise Neal, Robinne Lee, Clifton Powell, Vanessa Bell Calloway, and more. It’s definitely a drama.

The movie speaks to the wants of every human being, which is acceptance. While centered on the church it doesn’t evolve around religion. But the movie does deal with the many layers of life delving into ego, backstabbing, adultery, stepping out on faith, along with the ever taboo subject, bulimia. Without giving too much away Melinda Williams, who plays the character Cassandra, wife of Pastor L.C. struggled with an eating disorder. During a Q&A session after the premiere an audience member asked her about the role. She responded in short “we tend to think this a Caucasian disease because they talk about it, they discuss it. In a word I wanted to help!”

No doubt The Undershepherd will cause you to take a look in the mirror and reexamine your own relationship with God.

Russ Parr’s 4th movie “The Undershepherd” is coming to a

Cincinnati theater soon. Stay tuned!
