Responsible for taking praise and worship music to the urban audience, Fred Hammond has long been doing his thing post-1980′s major gospel achievements. Remember his contemporary-styled worship songs from back in the day such as “Glory to Glory” and “When the Spirit of the Lord” were everywhere? These songs have now become standards among black choir repertoires at someone’s church all across America and now Fred Hammond is bringing that same inspiring sound to all of us right here in Cincinnati this weekend.

Born in Detroit on December 27, 1960, Fred Hammond is one of the most highly respected gospel music singers. His vocal skills, production elements and musicianship on all of his albums and records have made him a name and a face people won’t ever forget. And how could we? Fred Hammond embodies what we know to be gospel music – let alone Black music, too. Among other artists, Fred Hammond’s name is forever a part of Black music history so let the praise begin as we celebrate our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the gift of both Black and gospel music.
