First there was the BET Music Matters Tour making it's stop in Cincinnati last Wednesday evening with R&B/pop starlet Read more..]]> It was truly a whirlwind weekend for Cincinnati Hip Hop and R&B fans as quite a few multi-talented breakthrough artists stormed the Queen City bringing a bit of soul, a bit of the club and of course all the exclusives we can handle.

First there was the BET Music Matters Tour making it’s stop in Cincinnati last Wednesday evening with R&B/pop starlet Melanie Fiona and soul singer/songwriter Marsha Ambrosius (formerly of Floetry) blazing the stage at the Aronoff Center. That same night, we kicked off the latest exclusive for our ladies – the Shoe-A-Cide Contest (click to enter and find full details). If you haven’t heard, ladies it’s your time to shine with your fanciest, flyest and most fierce footwear for a chance to win some really cool cash prizes. Of course, we quickly had to wrap up after the big show only because the next day, it was time to kick off Opening Day 2011 with the entire city and the victorious Cincinnati Reds in the exciting and highly anticipated Opening Day Parade throughout downtown.

The next day, the fun didn’t even come close to an end as all of Radio One Cincinnati joined forces for the 2011 St. Jude Radiothon – a marathon live broadcast that raised over $22,000 for the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital to find cures, support treatment and educate the masses on diseases that afflict children all over the globe such as cancer and sickle cell anemia. Congrats, thank you and much love to all of you who donated because we couldn’t do it without you. See you next year where we’ll do it all over again!

That amazing show, the big parade and the annual St. Jude Radiothon were all followed by a major live performance from YC (Young Chris). Holding the season’s biggest hip Hop debut “Racks,” YC and his crew Future bounced their way through the city on Friday night at Club AQUA.

And just when you thought it was all over (or if you were suddenly just then getting your weekend started properly), in comes the tiny chick with the big voice, Ms. Vivian Green live at MIXX Ultra Lounge. We hear her show was off the chain as well packing out the joint with neo-soul mega-fans all over the place. But just in case you missed any of the action, any of the exclusives and anything you might have wanted to get your fingertips on, we’ve got you covered.
